Three Repairs and a Receipt The receipt

The receipt

Every job ends with a slip that says who did the work, what it cost and what the customer is owed. This is that slip for the three pieces on this domain.

Who holds the pen

I fix small things in houses in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil: taps, doors, shelves, showers, gates, the list that hangs on the front page of this domain. The three slips were written by me, from jobs of the kind I do every week, with the houses and the men in them changed enough that nobody would recognize themselves. The habits at the end of each slip are mine or ones I have watched other men keep. I have no medical training and I say so on every page.

Why the slips are in English

Because the readers they were written for live in the United States. A handyman's trade does not travel across borders, but the way a man lives in his house does, and the three repairs on this domain are the same three repairs in Ohio or in Minas Gerais. Writing them in English, for an American house, is the choice of audience; the Portuguese list on the front page is the trade.

Where the money comes from

The repair work pays for itself. The domain and the time spent writing are paid for in a different way, and it should be written down on the receipt. This registered business is signed up as a referrer with online stores based in the United States. When a page on this domain points to one of those stores and a reader orders something there after arriving through that pointer, the store pays this business a fee. The reader pays the store's price and nothing on top. The three slips carry no such link today; if one of them ever does, the sentence above is the explanation, and the link will be labeled as what it is.

At some point the domain may also carry a filmed talk about one such item, on a page of its own, with this same name and registration at the bottom of it. The slips will not change to make room for it, and no slip will tell you to go and watch it.

What a slip is not

A slip is a story about a repair with a habit at the end. It is not a diagnosis, a course of care, a prescription or a promise about anybody's body. Where a slip mentions sleep, stairs, light or anything else that a doctor might also have an opinion about, the doctor's opinion wins, every time, and the slip says so at the bottom. If reading a slip raises a question about your own health, the next step is a physician, not a search box and not an e-mail to a handyman.

What is kept about a reader

Almost nothing, and here is the almost. The pages are served by Cloudflare, whose servers keep the ordinary short-lived record of a visit: an IP address, a time, a page name, a browser name, held so the service stays up and abuse can be blocked, under Cloudflare's own privacy terms. The lettering is fetched from Google Fonts, which means your browser asks Google's servers for a file and gives them your IP address to deliver it. This domain itself sets no cookies, runs no analytics, carries no advertising pixel and has no form. If you write to the e-mail address on this receipt, I keep the message while the exchange is going on and delete it afterward, unless it turns into work, in which case Brazilian tax rules decide how long the paperwork stays.

The law that governs all of this is Brazil's Law 13.709/2018, the LGPD. Under it you can ask me what I hold about you, ask for a copy, have it corrected or deleted, and complain to the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) if my answer does not satisfy you. I answer within fifteen business days. The longer version, in English, is on the note about personal data on the front of this domain.

Terms the pages are read under

The words and the photographs on the three slips and on this receipt belong to the business named at the top. Quote a sentence or two with a link back and you are welcome; copy a slip whole and you are not.

Any link that leads off this domain leads to a site this business does not run and cannot answer for. Read their terms as you read these.

The slips are offered as they are, without a guarantee that they are complete, current or right for your house, your stairs or your body. Acting on them is your decision and your responsibility.

Brazilian law governs these terms and the pages they cover. Where one line of them is found invalid, the rest stand.

The receipt can be rewritten. The date at the bottom tells you when it last was, and whichever version is hanging on the wall as you read governs.

Issued in October 2026. Questions about any line of it go to contato@jomasicase.com, and they will be answered by the person whose name is on it.
